We went to Atlanta today for the opening game of college football. Alabama (our team) – Roll Tide! vs. Virginia Tech at the Georgia Dome. We stopped for lunch at Maggiano’s Little Italy – our very favorite Italian restaurant. I saw these kids on the other side of the curtains and had to take their photo. We hadContinue reading “Pulling Back the Curtain – Snapshot of the Day, No. 218”

End of the Day – Snapshot of the Day, No. 217
We’ve been renovating my old house. The one I grew up in. And it’s taking a lot longer than we had originally thought. But we’ve learned a lot, and for the most part, have had fun. But it’s about time to go. We are about finished; but mostly, we are just tired. Joe and hisContinue reading “End of the Day – Snapshot of the Day, No. 217”
The World in 3D – Snapshot of the Day, No. 216
I decided to go to our IMAX theater’s gift shop today to buy some presents for my cousins. I had forgotten how beautiful the lobby of the place is. I think the world sculpture was created by one of our local artists, Jim Collins. But don’t quote me on that. I can’t find anything onContinue reading “The World in 3D – Snapshot of the Day, No. 216”
Zoom Zoom! – Snapshot of the Day, No. 215
These two never stop moving. They learned to ride their bikes without training wheels this summer. They were showing us their new skill.
Filing Files – Snapshot of the Day, No. 214
This is our very sophisticated filing system. But I really liked the light hitting it, so there you have it.
No Vampires Today – Snapshot of the Day, No. 213
I did not have an extra moment today at all. So I resorted to the garlic bulb in the kitchen window sill.
Last Days of Summer – Snapshot of the Day, No. 212
We took a break today and decided to spend the day at Joe’s parents’ house. We needed the rest apparently. Back to work tomorrow. Summer is coming to an end. Boo!
Summer Peppers – Snapshot of the Day, No. 210
I got home late and it was raining, so I grabbed some of our peppers we grew this summer and shot them. We were pretty successful with our little garden: we had tomatoes, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, basil and other herbs. Oh, and our berry bushes. It was fun, and they tasted better than store-bought.
Not at Jack’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 209
This scene is actually not at Jack’s Army Store. It’s at Sticky Fingers. I guess it used to be Jack’s Army Store. But this IS in an area called Jacks’s Alley. Joe and I were walking through after our baseball-viewing plans got dashed when the game got – are you ready for this? Rained out.Continue reading “Not at Jack’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 209”
Grain Deliveries – Snapshot of the Day, No. 208
It rained again today, but stopped right before I left work. The light was so pretty, I decided to shoot the delivery area to the granary behind the paper. Birds hang around all of the time to steal as much grain as they can. I guess these guys were just biding their time.
