I pulled over today to drop off some stuff at an American Thrift Store drop off box when this car caught my eye. It’s for sale if anyone is interested. It definitely stands out on the road.

Champy’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 206
We had lunch at Champy’s today. Joe showed up at work and we drove the half block to the restaurant on the spur of the moment. We ran into a couple of his friends, so we all sat down and ate together. It rained all day – again. Man, we have been gypped out ofContinue reading “Champy’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 206”
Flowers From the Garden – Snapshot of the Day, No. 205
These are some flowers from our garden – obviously from the title. It’s been a cool, wet summer. We are usually extremely hot and have to deal with drought situations. It’s been nice; yet, in some respects – it just doesn’t seem like we’ve had a summer. Not complaining. Just an observation.
Mud Run – Snapshot of the Day, No. 204
Today was the annual Mud Run competition. The proceeds go to Habitat for Humanity. A three-mile run of obstacles – and, of course – MUD. A good time was had by all, except for the unfortunate few how got hurt. Some of the obstacles are pretty tough.
REALLY? – Snapshot of the Day, No. 203
I pulled up to the gas pump this morning and noticed the person who used it before I did spent $99. That is a first for me. I just cannot imagine having to spend that much for gas. I remember my father complaining one day in the 70s that he had just spent $7.50 toContinue reading “REALLY? – Snapshot of the Day, No. 203”
Service – Snapshot of the Day, No. 202
This is a section of Chattanooga’s National Cemetery. It is a very quiet and respectful place, so I was trying to shoot it in that light. My prayers, thoughts and thanks go to all soldiers and veterans.
Homemade Biscuits – Snapshot of the Day, No. 201
I made my great grandmother’s homemade Angel Biscuits today mainly because I had some buttermilk left over from a cake I baked last week. They are REALLY good. These are some of the tools I used and thought they made a good photo. . . not as good as the biscuits, of course. Recipe: ButtermilkContinue reading “Homemade Biscuits – Snapshot of the Day, No. 201”
Shirt Service – Snapshot of the Day, No. 200
I did a U-turn today to get this shot. The only problem was I did it right in front of a police officer. GREAT! Fortunately he did not seem to care, so my 34-year driving record remains ticket-free. At any rate, this illustration struck me as very interesting since she resembles me a bit. And IContinue reading “Shirt Service – Snapshot of the Day, No. 200”
Lunch counter – Snapshot of the Day, No. 199
My father and I had lunch together today in our usual spot – Nikki’s. It’s a greasy-spoon that serves burgers and bottled Cokes. Among other things. Oh, and they profess to serve the world’s best onion rings. If they’re not the best, they are pretty close.
Studying at Sam’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 198
Ok, this may not be the greatest photograph in the world, but I find it humorous. I started to take this girl’s photo when she was sitting on the cart alone reading; but her father walked up, so I didn’t. But then he grabbed the cart and started walking. This little girl never looked up. SheContinue reading “Studying at Sam’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 198”
