This is River. Our “Jellicle cat” of sorts. He was not having a great morning, but he doesn’t complain – much.

Amazon Dreams – Snapshot of the Day, No. 185
I had some extra time today, so I went to the River Gallery Sculpture Garden and found this lovely sculpture – “Amazon with Sacred Geometry,” Steel, $28,00 – by Russell Whiting. She seemed to want to go inside this house, so that’s how I shot her. It was hot, after all.
Southern Porch – Snapshot of the Day, No. 184
This is a portion of my in-laws screened-in porch. They grow their own tomatoes and cucumbers. This scene just struck me as a typical Southern scene in the summer. I love summer in the South. The heat and humidity make me feel alive. I’m afraid I’m in the minority on this subject.
Mr. Ant – Snapshot of the Day, No. 183
Boo! I missed the focus on this ant. Oh well. The closer you get with a macro, the harder it is to focus. But, as usual, I only allow myself one shot. At any rate, I was framing up the flowers on this monkey grass when my little friend came along.
Taters – Snapshot of the Day, No. 182
I stumbled across this area of food venders today in downtown Chattanooga. They call themselves, Chattanooga Street Food Project, and it seemed pretty cool. Here is a story about it if you’re interested. Since I usually bring my lunch, I did not get a chance to try out the food; but that’s an idea for next week. ThisContinue reading “Taters – Snapshot of the Day, No. 182”
I’ll be Watching You – Snapshot of the Day, No 181
For as long as I can remember, this building – a former gas station – has been vacant. But now it is about to reopen as a restaurant: “Universal Joint.” As for the eyes painted on the building behind it – that was just luck for me. I have no idea why they are thereContinue reading “I’ll be Watching You – Snapshot of the Day, No 181”
Ariel in the Fountain – Snapshot of the Day, No. 180
Coolidge Park has a very cool fountain, and that is where I found this little princess today. I guess she just got tired of playing and decided to take a breather for a minute.
In Brainerd – Snapshot of the Day, No. 179
Every time I see this guy in an area of town near my old house called “Brainerd,” I think of the Paul Bunyan statue in the movie, “Fargo.” They have a Brainerd, too. I always thought that was odd. Anyway, this guy stands at our area miniature golf and recreation site called Goony Golf. OurContinue reading “In Brainerd – Snapshot of the Day, No. 179”
The Hidden Door – Snapshot of the Day, No. 178
I kept walking around the corner of this street and noticed people going through this door on a regular basis. Hmmm. It did not seem to belong to any particular business. The door to the coffeehouse, Chattz, was a different one – the one on the far left of the frame. I got tired ofContinue reading “The Hidden Door – Snapshot of the Day, No. 178”
Playing in the Peanut Barrel – Snapshot of the Day, No. 177
We went to lunch today at Logan’s Roadhouse, and I could not resist taking a photo of these two sisters playing in the peanut barrel. At one point, before their mother caught them, they were picking up the peanuts and pouring them all over their heads. Nice and appetizing! Meanwhile, on the TV screen, PhilContinue reading “Playing in the Peanut Barrel – Snapshot of the Day, No. 177”
