Amazon with Sacred Geometry, Bluff View Art District, Chattanooga, Photography, River Gallery Sculpture Garden
I had some extra time today, so I went to the River Gallery Sculpture Garden and found this lovely sculpture – “Amazon with Sacred Geometry,” Steel, $28,00 – by Russell Whiting.
She seemed to want to go inside this house, so that’s how I shot her. It was hot, after all.

inI stumbled across this area of food venders today in downtown Chattanooga. They call themselves, Chattanooga Street Food Project, and it seemed pretty cool. Here is a story about it if you’re interested.
Since I usually bring my lunch, I did not get a chance to try out the food; but that’s an idea for next week.
This vender’s name is actually Naters, but I couldn’t see the sign. I decided to leave it due to the box of what looks like drawn potatoes. Perhaps they are not. At any rate, Taters is a funny name. I’m leaving it.

inFor as long as I can remember, this building – a former gas station – has been vacant. But now it is about to reopen as a restaurant: “Universal Joint.”
As for the eyes painted on the building behind it – that was just luck for me. I have no idea why they are there or what they mean. But they are a little unnerving.

Coolidge Park has a very cool fountain, and that is where I found this little princess today.
I guess she just got tired of playing and decided to take a breather for a minute.

inEvery time I see this guy in an area of town near my old house called “Brainerd,” I think of the Paul Bunyan statue in the movie, “Fargo.” They have a Brainerd, too. I always thought that was odd.
Anyway, this guy stands at our area miniature golf and recreation site called Goony Golf. Our “Paul Bunyan” watches over the go-carts as they fly past him.
I’ve always found him more than a little creepy. But I don’t like dolls either. That must explain it.

inI kept walking around the corner of this street and noticed people going through this door on a regular basis.
Hmmm. It did not seem to belong to any particular business. The door to the coffeehouse, Chattz, was a different one – the one on the far left of the frame.
I got tired of looking for a photo of the day and decided to shoot this gentleman as he walked through this mysterious door.
Now that I think about it, I may know the business this door belongs to. But I think I’ll keep it a mystery.

inWe went to lunch today at Logan’s Roadhouse, and I could not resist taking a photo of these two sisters playing in the peanut barrel. At one point, before their mother caught them, they were picking up the peanuts and pouring them all over their heads. Nice and appetizing!
Meanwhile, on the TV screen, Phil Mickelson had just won the British Open golf championship, and the cameraman was showing how happy Phil’s wife was.
Mickelson is Joe’s favorite golfer, so he was happy the rest of the day.
