I went to the Barn Nursery on a break today and decided to bring my camera. I loved this lady searching for the right plant and/or flowers to buy. She did not look like she felt well; but, by golly, she was going to get her flowers. Good for her. The Barn is one ofContinue reading “The Gardener – Snapshot of the Day, No. 83”

Alley in Rain – Snapshot of the Day, No. 82
This is an alley between a parking garage and an older building downtown. It was dumping buckets of rain, although you cannot tell that here. This was the best I could do today – and with my cell phone no less. Time to get a new lens when my phone camera gives a sharper image.
Engel Stadium – Snapshot of the Day, No. 81
This is the center field wall to Engel Stadium. It was once home to our local Chattanooga Lookouts – before a newer stadium was built. It was used recently to film portions of the movie, “42.” The Jackie Robinson Story. So, apparently the stadium is now undergoing a restoration. I had to stop and shootContinue reading “Engel Stadium – Snapshot of the Day, No. 81”
East 17th Street – Snapshot of the Day, No. 80
I saw this mural today and decided to pull over. When I got out, I was hoping someone would come by – so I looked to my right; and by golly, here came a man walking a bicycle! Good luck for me! This was on East 17th Street in the Southside. Right off of MainContinue reading “East 17th Street – Snapshot of the Day, No. 80”
Clover – Snapshot of the Day, No. 79
I did not have much of an opportunity to shoot something today, so I just pointed my camera down toward the clover in the front yard. I think I missed a sharp focus by a little. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day.
Fish School – Snapshot of the Day, No. 78
I have three comet goldfish that cost 27 cents each five years ago. These were priced at 10 cents each. Huh. My fish have devalued. (But not to me. I love my fish) I found these guys at Petco today.
Sugar’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 77
I saw this girl sweeping the entrance to Sugar’s Ribs today and instantly knew she’d be my Snapshot of the Day. But I did not want her to go back inside before I got her photo, so I quickly did a meter reading for the shade and then lifted my camera and shot. I hadContinue reading “Sugar’s – Snapshot of the Day, No. 77”
Morning Light – Snapshot of the Day, No. 76
I was out early this morning and had some time to kill before I went to work, so I went over to the Hunter Museum of American Art to see if I could find anything to shoot. This fence has always attracted me, but the light hitting the columns on the original Hunter Museum mansionContinue reading “Morning Light – Snapshot of the Day, No. 76”
Buehler’s Market – Snapshot of the Day, No. 75
This is Buehler’s Food Market on Market Street downtown. Close to Panera and Taco Mac. I LOVE going in here because it reminds me of shopping with my mother at the M&J when I was a kid. It even has that same grocery store smell you just don’t get with modern stores today. It hasContinue reading “Buehler’s Market – Snapshot of the Day, No. 75”
National Anthem – Snapshot of the Day, No. 74
Our national anthem makes me cry – every time I hear it. Without fail. Tv, computer or in person. It does not matter. It’s a great, moving song. I am very patriotic, and I love my country – failures and all. I have been to a few other countries, and they were all very niceContinue reading “National Anthem – Snapshot of the Day, No. 74”
