I drove the block or two from work today over to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo to buy a souvenir, of all things, for my cousin in New York. I actually did find something not too touristy, yet Southern at the same time.
I meant to ship her some locally-made MoonPies, I just never got around to actually doing that. So she’ll have to settle for a few other items from here. Little Debbie Snack Cakes are made here, as well, and very delicious, too! (my sister works there, so I had to include them)
Anyway, I digress. I was at the Choo-Choo and could not pass up a trip to the pond that holds all of the goldfish. We have comet goldfish in our modest pond at home; but there are only three of them. Plus a frog. It’s quite small. But this thing is massive. It is in the middle of the rose garden on the grounds of the Choo-Choo. It’s quite the eco-system going. Lots of plants, birds and butterflies. . . and tourists.
