Coca Cola, Coke, Empty coke bottles, Mexican Cokes, Photography

112413_303WeWereSoldiersROk. So I have a slight addiction to sugar and caffeine. Mexican Cokes are my drug of choice.

They are GOOD! (They are bottled in Mexico, and real sugar is used – making them taste like they did when I was a kid in the late 60s and early 70s.)

Anyway, they are also expensive; so if I can’t finish one at one time, I try to save them for later. They keep their carbonation pretty well.

My father calls empty beer bottles, “Dead Soldiers.” So this morning when Joe opened the refrigerator, he burst out laughing and shouted, “We Were Soldiers!” A takeoff on a Mel Gibson movie… and of course, he was making fun of me.

Cappuccino, Chattanooga, Coca Cola, Coffee, Coke, Photography

111313_292MorningCoffeeROk, the title is a little misleading. I am not a coffee-in-the-morning kind of person. I think I’ve mentioned more than once that I’m a Coca Cola girl.

And I most certainly would not drink four cups of cappuccino at once. I do like it, though. But usually at night.

But I like these little cups. They came with my husband.

Atlanta, Bottling company, Chattanooga, Coca Cola, Coke, Photography, Yoo Hoo

110613_285BottleCapsRAh! The best of both worlds. Coke and Chocolate.

Actually, as much as I like chocolate, I’ve never had a Yoo-Hoo. I imagine it to be too watery for me.

At any rate, I found these antique bottle caps recently and decided to shoot them. They are from a time when you could return your glass bottles and get money for them.

Although Coca Cola was created in Atlanta, Georgia, it was first bottled in Chattanooga. Eventually other cities would bottle it, and on the bottom of each one was the city and state that particular bottle was made it. My father found one from Hawaii once but never found another one, even though he looked for years. And of course he didn’t save his original bottle.

They no longer stamp the city and state on the bottom. Too expensive, I suppose. Rip off.

One more fun thing taken away from us.

Coca Cola, Glass, Liquor, Mexican Cokes, Recycling bin

080913_196AddictionsRWell, I suppose we all have our additions. Mine happens to be Coca Cola. Especially the ones bottled with pure sugar vs. corn syrup.

Ah! There is nothing like waking up to a cold, sugary, carbonated beverage that burns as it goes down.

But I digress.

This is a shot of the inside of the glass recycling bin today. I imagine there is a story with each glass container. Especially from the discarded liquor bottles.

020613_12CokeAndMirrorsRI couldn’t resist. A Coke delivery truck pulled up next to me while I was trying to decide what my photo of the day would be.

Hmmm. I decided to take it as a sign considering I have such an addiction to Coca Cola. My mouth literally waters whenever I see the logo and their signature color red.

Perhaps it is because Coke has such a history in this city.

Nope. It’s the sugar and caffeine. Definitely.
