011614_357BreakfastRThis is River.

a.k.a. – Tubby, Tubby Rivers, Tub-Tub, Mr. Tubbs, Moo Moo, T.B. and Your Excellence.

He’s our senior cat. The most loved and popular of our roost.

He’s about 17 years old, has epilepsy and kidney failure. (I give him fluids several times a week) But he never complains.

Our other two cats – both females – annoy him greatly;  but he rarely gets mad at them. Good thing. Even though he’s very frail, he’s still bigger and stronger than they are.

Joe, who swore he’d never date a woman who owned pets, LOVES this cat!

Chattanooga Christmas Parade, Humane Society, Pets, Photography

121513_324ChristmasParadeRWe went to the Christmas parade downtown tonight. The Humane Society was there with a bunch of pups.

This guy was a little shy before the event actually started.

Perhaps he was less than thrilled with his costume.

111413_293NaptimeRHe could barely keep his eyes open. As excited as he gets; and as much as he runs and jumps and barks all the time – a dog has to sleep sometime.

101813_266DimBulbRActually, he’s not a “dim bulb,” at all. Murray is quite smart. He just looks dumb here.

He had surgery on his eye and hip last week, so today was the day to get the stitches out….and to take off his lamp shade – or “Crown,” as we call it.

He was waiting Not So Patiently for the technicians to come back in. He could hear them on the other side of the door. He absolutely LOVES being at the vet. He likes the attention and the treats they all give him.

Told you he wasn’t dumb.

If you look closely at the top left of the frame, the movement you see is his tail wagging. It never stops when he’s there.

But, then again, he never stops moving anyway. He loves life and all it has to offer. The simplest thing delights him.

We should all learn from Mr. Murray.

Dogs, Hula Hoop, Pets, Photography, Welcome home

091813_236WelcomeHomeRThis is what I see when I come home – every time.

I was trying to get a cool shot of my pups by lifting the camera over the fence to shoot down on them, but they moved when I shot the image. Murray had to stop and scratch and itch, but then they went and got Mr. Hula Hoop to engage me in a game of tug of war. I liked both of them, so I decided to make it a diptych.

Please excuse the shape of the backyard. They know not what they do.

Pets, Stray cats

061313_139VadaRThis is Vada. She is a neurotic, nervous, non-trusting cat who gets along with only one of the other two cats we have.

What she she does have going for her is she’s beautiful and gets along with the larger of the three cats. He pretty much watches out for her.
