Chicken salad. I haven’t made that in years! This morning I made it with the rotisserie chicken I made a few nights ago. I added apples, grapes, toasted walnuts, salt and pepper, and red chili flakes to offset the sweet fruit. Oh, and mayonnaise, of course. It turned out to be really good! I wasContinue reading “Chicken Salad – Snapshot of the Day, No. 349”

Pancake House – Snapshot of the Day, No. 344
Nothing says “Pancake Breakfast” like a Lazy Susan of syrup. We went to breakfast on our way out of town this morning at a place called, Tiffin Inn Pancake House Restaurant. We stepped into the diner and back into the 1970s. But it was good. Neither one of us got pancakes, but we did haveContinue reading “Pancake House – Snapshot of the Day, No. 344”
Pick of the Day – Snapshot of the Day, No. 219
We went to lunch today at Big River after church today. At one point, I felt someone looking at me. I turned and saw this extra cute little girl leaning over the back of the booth staring at me…..with her finger up her nose. I instantly dug inside of my purse for my cell phoneContinue reading “Pick of the Day – Snapshot of the Day, No. 219”
Service – Snapshot of the Day, No. 202
This is a section of Chattanooga’s National Cemetery. It is a very quiet and respectful place, so I was trying to shoot it in that light. My prayers, thoughts and thanks go to all soldiers and veterans.
Who’s Got a Quarter? – Snapshot of the Day, No. 142
Our nephew during our Father’s Day pizza dinner. An expression of total delight! Just think of the potential fun inside that gum ball machine.
Vada – Snapshot of the Day, No 139
This is Vada. She is a neurotic, nervous, non-trusting cat who gets along with only one of the other two cats we have. What she she does have going for her is she’s beautiful and gets along with the larger of the three cats. He pretty much watches out for her.
STING – Snapshot of the Day, No. 136
Joe and I went to Atlanta’s Chastain Park tonight to see Sting perform. As you can probably see, we were nowhere near the stage – AND I forgot my binoculars! Drat. But it was a great concert, and we had a lot of fun. The last concert we went to was in Nashville – aboutContinue reading “STING – Snapshot of the Day, No. 136”
Music Under the Bridge – Snapshot of the Day, No. 135
We finally made it down to our annual Riverbend Festival tonight. We did not get to go Friday or Saturday, so we definitely wanted to go tonight. This was the stage under the Walnut Street Bridge. We listened to Tim Wilson for a few minutes before going over to the 10,000 Maniacs performance. But the first stageContinue reading “Music Under the Bridge – Snapshot of the Day, No. 135”
No Patrons – Snapshot of the Day, No. 134
This shot is somewhat misleading. There actually were customers in this deli. The owner is from New York, so you know the sandwiches are wonderful. But I just liked the emptiness of the corner. They don’t have a website – that I could find – but here is a write-up if you’re interested: http://www.timesfreepress.com/news/2011/oct/14/nicks-deli-solid-substantial-surprising/
Self-portrait with Pond – Snapshot of the Day, No. 133
We have three comet goldfish and a frog living in this pond right outside the front door, so we get to see them all of the time. They make me smile. But anyway, that is where I took this photo this morning. Ok. It’s midnight and we just got home – again. I’m too tiredContinue reading “Self-portrait with Pond – Snapshot of the Day, No. 133”
