I love this window on a rainy day. The reflections are cut in half allowing the mannequins to stand out better. I may do a series on these windows – a different photo of each wardrobe change.

Our nephew during our Father’s Day pizza dinner.
An expression of total delight! Just think of the potential fun inside that gum ball machine.
I’ve been trying to get a good shot of my new favorite vase for a while, but haven’t been able to do it.
But I had success today! The key was not using it as the main subject, but as a background element.
These two things were sitting next to each other on our kitchen counter, so I thought, “Why not?”
Joe bought me this Lucini olive oil, along with several other kinds, at Christmas. Yum! Olive oil and bread – now THAT is a good combination!
It was pretty hot today. He heat index was over 100 degrees…. And my car air conditioner works when it’s cool outside. So consequently, I did not want to spend too much time this afternoon searching for a photo of the day.
But as luck would have it, I saw these two across the street from where I was walking. They had been standing together talking by the back bike; but by the time I got close enough to get a good shot, they were both on their vehicles. I think it makes a better picture this way.
I and my car limped back to work sweating and smiling.
I took a photo of this personalized gum ball machine today outside of O.C. Buckles & Co. because it reminded me of my mother.
When I was a little girl, she would always stop on our way out of the grocery store to let me get some bubble gum out of one of these machines. And I had to be careful to place my hand in just the right spot or the gum would fall all over the floor.
She made being a kid fun.
Joe and I went to Atlanta’s Chastain Park tonight to see Sting perform.
As you can probably see, we were nowhere near the stage – AND I forgot my binoculars! Drat. But it was a great concert, and we had a lot of fun.
The last concert we went to was in Nashville – about 2 1/2 hours away. We went to see Kid Rock (another really good concert) and had to stop in Murfreesboro on our way home to get something to eat. Must have been from all of the second-hand “smoke” we inhaled inside the arena. (That was a story of the day a few months back if you want to look it up)
But tonight we had no such problem. Being outdoors, no smoke to worry about.
I’ve been listening to a 2010 Sting concert on YouTube lately. It is of him performing with the London Philharmonic Orchestra in Berlin. It’s two hours long, but well worth the time. I listen to it while working at my computer at work.
It’s really good!
We finally made it down to our annual Riverbend Festival tonight. We did not get to go Friday or Saturday, so we definitely wanted to go tonight.
This was the stage under the Walnut Street Bridge. We listened to Tim Wilson for a few minutes before going over to the 10,000 Maniacs performance.
But the first stage we went to had The Beaters, with guest singer, Dr. Nick Honerkamp. Joe’s and my archeology teacher years ago. It’s the class where we initially met.
If it hadn’t been for him, we would have never met.
This shot is somewhat misleading. There actually were customers in this deli. The owner is from New York, so you know the sandwiches are wonderful. But I just liked the emptiness of the corner.
They don’t have a website – that I could find – but here is a write-up if you’re interested:
