This is a cork from a dinner party one of my father’s friends threw several months ago. I had so much fun, I decided to swipe one of the corks from the many wine bottles purchased that night. It smelled so good! Unfortunately I can not partake due to my migraines. Sigh. As far asContinue reading “Laetitia – Snapshot of the Day, No. 286”

Bottle Caps – Snapshot of the Day, No. 285
Ah! The best of both worlds. Coke and Chocolate. Actually, as much as I like chocolate, I’ve never had a Yoo-Hoo. I imagine it to be too watery for me. At any rate, I found these antique bottle caps recently and decided to shoot them. They are from a time when you could return yourContinue reading “Bottle Caps – Snapshot of the Day, No. 285”
Lighting – Snapshot of the Day, No. 284
The sign pretty much sums it up. Lamps for as far as you can see. I think this is a room that holds stock for the Revival store at Warehouse Row. Great stuff. Too expensive for me. But I like to use their decor to come up with ideas for my own house.
The Newspaper’s Vista – Snapshot of the Day, No. 283
This is our view outside of the windows in the city room of the newspaper. Not very inspirational or uplifting; but then again, before the building was renovated, we had no windows at all. Just those glass blocks that you can’t see out of. Sort of like these…… …..just not as uplifting.
Going Postal – Snapshot of the Day, No. 280
We have a beautiful federal building downtown. It contains our federal courthouse, as well as the U.S. Post Office. Jimmy Hoffa was actually tried and convicted in this building in 1964 for jury tampering. He was sentenced to 8 years. But the inside of this building is really beautiful. It reminds me of the architectureContinue reading “Going Postal – Snapshot of the Day, No. 280”
Girl Power – Snapshot of the Day, No. 279
Happy Halloween! I thought it only appropriate to shoot this as the photo of the day since it is our scary holiday. We’re doing a story on people who own tarantulas as pets, so I tagged along with the photographer during the assignment. I’m not sure what my cats would think of these guys; butContinue reading “Girl Power – Snapshot of the Day, No. 279”
5:13 – Snapshot of the Day, No. 278
On my way out the door to find my photo of the day, I was stopped by this clock. I’ve walked past this clock – Heaven only knows how many times. I’ve never given it much thought. But today it caught my eye. Who knows why. But the way it’s presented here gives it aContinue reading “5:13 – Snapshot of the Day, No. 278”
Second Renovation – Snapshot of the Day, No. 276
This is Warehouse Row, obviously. A Civil War era building that was turned into warehouses at the turn of the 20th century, Warehouse Row was renovated in the late 1980s or early 90s….(I can’t remember the exact date)….. and turned into an outlet mall. Slowly but surely those shops vanished and Warehouse Row became aContinue reading “Second Renovation – Snapshot of the Day, No. 276”
Inspiration! – Snapshot of the Day, No. 275
This is my favorite photo of two of our best friends. I placed their photo on top of one of my favorite photographer’s book, Vivian Maier. They all give me lots of inspiration.
SHARK! – Snapshot of the Day, No. 273
We went to the IMAX Theatre tonight for date night and saw, “Great White Shark.” (We had originally planned to go to the Tennessee Aquarium as well, but it just was not in the cards today. We had a lot of obstacles. We’ll try to go sometime next week.) But anyway, the show was great.Continue reading “SHARK! – Snapshot of the Day, No. 273”
